Rented a car for one day. with the high rates you have been seeing, 66 dollars was not bad for the day over all the places I had to go. Lyft would have been more expensive. This was in Burminham AL

Watch out! Very good experience reserving and picking up car, but upon return, very few staff and instructions. Later they added a refueling charge, despite my having filled the tank just minutes prior to return. I have evidence and had to dispute extra charges from this franchise.

Just wanted to mention the kindness and courtesy extended to us by Corey in the Birmingham location. We had many difficulties on our trip. Our car broke down on the way to Florida and we rented a van. We got to Florida and my daughter contracted COVID. We had no vehicle and were in a terrible position. He was so nice and allowed us to drop the van in St. Louis and waived the drop off fee.

Which was huge, because we didn't plan on the rental to start with and it could have been almost another $200.00. And he was so kind about it and wished us the best and good health. It really meant a lot to me and my family, and took a ton of added stress out of our situation. Please let him know it mattered and was very much appreciated! And I will most definitely be making ALAMO my first choice in car rentals going forward due to his exemplary service and kind treatment of a customer in a tough situation.

Called to make a reservation. The lady on the phone specifically asked if I had a debit or major credit card. I said debit. She took the numbers and sent me a confirmation email. When I got there, I learned that apparently you can't use a debit card. It has to be a major credit card and I wasn't able to rent. I'm not mad at the rule, it just would've been nice to know that up front.

This would be a one star review but the person at the desk in the airport was super nice about it and I can't judge the rental experience since I didn't have one so eh, that would've been a bit dramatic. Communication seems to be an issue in Birmingham.

Horrifying experience at Alamo Birmingham airport. Prepaid a 4 day rental at $700. When we arrived we could not get a car. Never got one. Now, Alamo won't even discuss a refund. Avoid these crooks at all cost. Don't go near them. Pay twice the price and go elsewhere. You will be sorry.

Renting from Alamo is always a pleasure. From the counter staff to the lot staff, and during vehicle return. the experience is satisfying. They rent nice choice vehicles. I feel the prices are high on short term rentals. Longer term rental appear to be more competitive. I plan to continue renting from them.

One of the worst experiences ever with renting a car. I signed up for Alamo & completed pre-check in with the hopes of saving time and money. I saved money but waited approximately 1 hour to get the car. There was a long line, it was hot, late in the evening and only 1 rude employee at the window. Everytime someone checked in they had to go get the car.

When I finally got to the counter after an hour the employee was very rude and not apologetic or sympathetic at all about the long wait, etc. He did point me in the direction of the night shift manager. I'm omitting details, bottom line, terrible experience at the counter; however, the the night Manager/Supervisor and Matt the Manager made up for my terrible experience. Thanks management, I hope next time the customer service training will have been completed and also streamlining the check in process. 1 plus hour is too long.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They truly seemed to be happy to be there and glad to see us. Some other places we have rented from in the past, the staff seemed annoyed that they had to stop whatever they were doing to actually do their job. Alamo in Birmingham wasn't like that at all. I wish I had gotten the employee's name who helped us because he greeted us with a smile and an eagerness to help which made us feel like we were part of the family.

We picked up our rental quickly and were on the road in just a few minutes. We rented a large SUV at a very reasonable price to bring our new Marine home from boot camp. The rental was so clean that we truly thought it was a brand new car. We will definitely be renting from them again.

Arriving later than planned due to weather there was a little bit of a line at the counter which moved along pretty quickly for it being 9pm at night. The counter agent had a lot of patience with a set of customers that did not understand the rules for use of debit cards, she handled herself well as it was company policy. Booking with Costco made for an easy reservation at the counter and I was presented with a RAV-4 with just 600 miles on it.

The car was clean and handled well. I did a before hours drop off which was smooth too and no surprises on statement. I enjoy renting from Alamo, we have had great experiences all over the country.
