Our company started back in 1991 with a single black 9 passenger Lincoln town car limousine. This was a limo we took in a trade from the sale of another business venture. That one limousine quickly grew to 20+ and the building of our 7,500 square foot warehouse in 2005. In 2019 Derby City Limousines relaunched with a new beginning.
The company was started by William Davis and ran for all 5 years with a perfect record, providing limousines service to Louisville and the surrounding area. The company started with a single black 9 passenger Lincoln town car limousine that we took in trade from the sale of another business venture.
Derby City Limousines first opened in 1991, we have been serving the people of Louisville KY for many years. See our complete company history here. Our company has generously donated limousine services to several local charity events and great causes, including the children's Make-A-Wish Foundation, local schools and sports teams, Tickets For Tots, and many others.
We are at our limousine warehouse location Monday through Friday, 11-9pm. We do answer our phones and email 24/7 since we service clients at all hours of the day, 7 days a week. The drivers have always been friendly and helpful. They have always got us to our destination on time and I even asked if we could have extra time that was not schedule during original booking and they were very helpful in allowing this to happen. I will continue to use them every time I need a limo service and have referred them to several close friends.

Jason was our driver for our guy's Bachelor Bourbon Trail tour this past weekend. He was ABSOLUTELY outstanding. Arrived on time. Couldn't have been more professional. The driver stayed was great! Also the booking process was painless and Alex was extremely attentive to our needs to ensure we had the best experience. I don't usually do reviews but I just had to for this one. I would definitely use them again. He made our day seamless and enjoyable. Tell him a huge thank you from all of us. Used DCL for a personalized bourbon trail and we appreciated the entire experience. Alex was our drive and she was Great. Arrived on time. Help time manage the trip. She allowed my wife to decorate the bus for my 30th birthday. All around great experience. The bus was advertised to seat 30. We had 27 and room was minimal so I'd put that into consideration when planning a group trip.

No refunds for any reason ever. But also no replies to emails or phone calls for months. We booked with a different service because Derby wasn't responding, what do you know the day after we book with someone else Derby sends me a message. We're out over $1000 because they don't reply to emails or phone calls. Buyer beware.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Spoke with Mick directly multiple times on the phone, as he does not like to communicate via email. Every time we spoke I had to communicate the vehicle I was looking for and remind him of the price, date, etc. He agreed to check availability and never followed up, I followed up, referred to the aforementioned rate, he said he "must have been sleeping" when providing that rate and wanted to increase another $40 an hour.
He at first offered to take a credit card with a 10% markup on the deposit versus "an overnighted check" via the form (reading reviews online, I was wary to provide a check). Then he said nevermind, it "wasn't worth his time". Take advice from the reviews, DO NOT work with this company or Mick, it's not worth YOUR time.

If I could give 0 stars I would! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Cashed our check and never showed up to pick us up from our wedding! We called and they were rude to us and told us they'd call back.then they never returned our calls. We had to take Uber's to our reception. Now he won't refund us our money! Do not make the mistake of using this company!

This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. Unorganized, and fast to blame the customer for their inadequacies. When I told Mick I won a free 3 hour limo ride, I immediately knew he didn't want to honor my prize. I called to set this up over a month before my wedding. I was told by the owner that we had plenty of time. I knew prom season was around the corner, so I was making sure we would get a limo.
The day before the wedding I got an email stating that since I waited so long and it was prom season, that we probably wouldn't get the limo and to arrange other transportation. I have a feeling if I was a paying customer there wouldn't have been an issue. Two thumbs down.

Long story short; our limo never arrived and Mick is refusing to refund the deposit. I'm thankful I did not pay in full upfront! I booked a limo with Mick a month in advance of my wife's 30th birthday. One week before her birthday (day of service) I called and confirmed my reservation, so far so good. We were supposed to be picked up at 11 am the day of service.
At 11:15am I called Mick to inquire where the driver was. I was told to call the driver, which I did and got no answer. One of the people in our party told me that they passed a limo that had been pulled over by the police on their way to our house around 10:45am; I was still hopeful that our driver would just be a little late at this point. At 11:30, still no limo, I called Mick and was told that he was trying to help but couldn't if I kept bothering him.
I called the driver, no answer. I continued to call both Mick and the driver every 10 mins with varying success of the calls being answered until Mick was yelling at me and told me to never call him again. At first, I kept my cool in hopes of getting the service I had signed up and paid a deposit for. As time passed I was loosing my temper and did end up in a bit of a shouting match which is when I was told to never call again- no problem Mick, but I am still waiting on that refund.

I wish we would have read these reviews before we booked a limousine through this company to take us on the bourbon tours during our Kentucky Derby visit. Our limousine showed up on time, but when we crawled into the back of it, it was DISGUSTING! The driver was very friendly - said he had been out until 2:00 a.m., then was called back in to pick us up at 9:00 a.m.
The limo had never even been cleaned from the last party - there was hair everywhere, gum and dirt on the floor, the mirrors had cracks everywhere, there were holes in the console where a radio should have been, there was nothing in the so-called bar, and there was no TV like promised in their online ad. I could go on and on. We called Mick, and he said it wasn't his problem, to call the dispatcher.
We called the dispatcher and he didn't care, either. We ended up paying a guy from our hotel to drive us around in our rental car for the day. Mick stopped taking our phone calls when we demanded our down payment back, which they must have deposited the minute it came in the mail. We received an e-mail from a C. Caudill, the "CFO", stating that they would not refund our money because we agreed to the "Terms and Conditions" when we signed the form. We sent numerous pictures to C. Caudill showing just how disgusting the limo was, but this person has never responded back.

Oh gosh, where to begin? Our reservation for the 13-person party bus was made on Saturday from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. I get a call just after 8:00 p.m. that the reservation is delayed an hour because they were giving us a brand new bus and it wasn't finished (ummm, okay). 10:30 rolls around and the bus still hasn't shown up. I get a call around 10:40 and the bus is at the wrong address.
She didn't look at the itinerary. It is almost 11:00 p.m. before we actually get on the bus (finally) but it reeks of chemicals/paint. We look past all of this and are just excited to have some fun and we go to our first stop which was less than a mile away. After this stop, the bus breaks down. The driver could not shift out of park. We are told repeatedly that "help was on the way." And we even help her troubleshoot the problem with no resolve.
After nearly an hour and a half without any promise of compensation or fixing of the situation we decide to find another way to get to our next destination (around 12:30 a.m.). This company has some serious issues. When I called and emailed regarding my refund I was told to not contact Michael Whitton and was directed to the website. Guess who is the only contact on the website? That's right, Michael aka "Mick." It also says in order to be considered for a refund you must write a letter to the company's board of directors. Do they give you that address? Of course not! I will be filing a complaint with The Better Business Bureau and my bank for this scam. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

WORST LIMO COMPANY EVER! Limo showed up late and was nasty and rude, limo looked like it was from the junk yard. When they came to pick us up from the salon the driver had a "friend" with him and we had no idea who the girl was. On top of that the girl stayed in the limo the whole time and seemed not to be in the best state of mind. They were very lucky I didn't call the police on them.
We had a town car reserved for the end of the night to take me and my new husband to our hotel, but the limo never showed. When I called the Mick about it he said the driver had been fired! PLEASE read these reviews because the people on this page are not lying. If I could do it again I would pay more and use a limo company that is legit. We did a good experience with the hummer that came to pick the bridal party up, the funny thing was it was a different limo company, no wonder it was such a nice limo. Do not use even if they offer a good deal. They should be embarrassed and be put out of business! I really wish I had read these reviews before I used them!

DO NOT USE. Mick is a liar and a thief. He canceled on us 45 minutes before our event. Then proceeded to tell us he is a picking up a bigger party. He can however pick us up over a hour late. Mick said he would send us our deposit check of $100 dollars back. He cashed it and now is very rude. will not answer calls or hangs up now. We most recently have received a letter that says the deposit is not refundable even though MIck canceled on us. This place is a scam! DO NOT USE! I WISH THERE WAS A NEGATIVE RATING FOR THIS LIAR.

From previous reviews, I thought that this service was not going to be good whatsoever. I must say, I was definitely surprised and had a ball! We had used the limo service for transportation for a bachelorette party, and our driver Mick was the nicest limo driver I've ever had! He was very prompt, friendly, and engaging. The limo was clean inside and provided a fun atmosphere for us. He kept in contact with us and even let us extend our time out for a bit! I felt very safe with his driving ability and would definitely use the service again!

WORST LIMO SERVICE EVER. Showed up late. Inside was FILTHY. Broke down FOUR times on the way to our destination - making us more than an hour late. Had to stop for gas on the way home putting us late getting home. THEN threw a fit when we asked for a discount and charged us the FULL amount. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL DO NOT USE EVER!
